Skills for Education and Employment

WCIG offers the Skills for Education and Employment program. This program has two streams; one for young people and one for mature aged/adult students.

The SEE program provides 800 hours of free training to eligible jobseekers to improve their language, literacy and numeracy skills. Contact Centrelink or your JobActive for a referral. Find out more by visiting the SEE Website.

Our program caters for job seeker groups with literacy and/or numeracy training needs including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, youth, people with disabilities, mature aged people, and job seekers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.


  • between 15 - 64 years of age
  • registered as a jobseeker with DHS
  • not a full-time student
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • meets the rules on visa status/benefits

The SEE program is delivered face-to-face and assists students to get the skills to get a job:

  • reading and writing
  • speaking and listening
  • numeracy
Our Youth SEE Program is delivered in Ascot Vale and our General/Adult Program is delivered in Flemington and Roxburgh Park.
