Short courses
WCIG is a nationally recognised training organisation that offers short courses to our jobseekers.
These initial programs give you the basic skills and information to work in a range of industries. All of these programs lead to nationally recognised qualifications.Courses are run in the training rooms of our Footscray, Prahran, Sunshine and Werribee branches that are equipped with the resources and learning materials you need to succeed.
Courses include: hospitality services, cleaning and housekeeping and office skills.
Pre-apprenticeships
WCIG encourages jobseekers to enter trades where there is a need for workers, increasing their chances of finding long-term employment.
Through the Australian Apprenticeships Access Programme, WCIG offers pre-apprenticeship courses in a range of industries.
If you're interested in an apprenticeship, this is the best place to start. This initial short course gives you a taste of the kind of work involved while giving you a basic understanding of the role and some related experience to add to your resume, giving you the advantage.
Industries we're currently offering government funded pre-apprenticeships for include: hairdressing, metal construction cabinet making, and office administration.
You can participate in practical learning that will help you respond to the needs of today's workforce.
