Skills Reform for Victoria: Securing Jobs for your future - Skills for Victoria Program

AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE PERSONS WHO ARE

  • An Australian citizen; or

  • Permanent resident of Australia; or

  • A holder of a Special Category VISA (sub-class 444)

  • Temporary Protection VISA holders; or

  • East Timorese Asylum seekers; and

  • People whose current training is not funded under any other State or Commonwealth Government program;

  • Aged 15-19 can apply for any qualification regardless of prior level of qualifications.

  • If 20 – 24 years old, must not hold a qualification in Certificate III or higher in any discipline except in a Foundation Category course; or

  • If aged 25 and over:

    • MUST BE RETRENCHED FROM 1 JAN 2009
    • REGISTERED WITH AN EMPLOYMENT SERVICE PROVIDER
    • HOLD A CERTIFICATE OF SEPERATION
    • MUST NOT hold a qualification in Certificate III or higher in any discipline except in a Foundation Category course. (Certificate II is the cut off)

What is The Skills Reform For Victoria: Securing Jobs for your Future - Skills For Victoria Program?

The Victorian Government unveiled a major package of reforms to the Victorian training system, Securing Jobs for Your Future: Skills for Victoria. Launched in August 2008, the policy is giving Victoria a better vocational education and training system to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. Qualifications Available at WCIG Training Services under this reform

The following training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding:


Certificate III Children’s Services (CHC30708)

Start Date:9th August – 1st December 2010
Cost :$952.56* (Free for eligible concession card holders)
Duration :3 days per week (Monday’s to Wednesday’s)
Locations: WCIG, 151 Nicholson Street Footscray VIC and also a minimum of 160 hours work placement.

Certificate III Business Administration (BSB30407)

Start Date:9th August – 25th November 2010
Cost :$729.00* (Free for eligible concession card holders)
Duration: :3 days per week (Monday's to Wednesday's)
Locations:WCIG, 151 Nicholson Street Footscray and also a minimum of 160 hours work placement.

Certificate II Hospitality (SIT20207)

Start Date:12th August – 3rd December 2010
Cost :$356.40* (Free for eligible concession card holders)
Duration: :2 days per week (Thursday & Fridays)

Certificate II Retail (SIR20207)

Start Date: 5th August – 5th November 2010
Cost :$518.00* (Free for eligible concession card holders)
Duration: : 2 days per week (Thursday’s to Fridays)
Locations:Training - WCIG 151 Nicholson Street Footscray & also a minimum of 160 hours work placement.

Certificate II Asset Maintenance(PRM20104)

Start Date: 26th August – 5th December 2010
Cost :$260.82* (Free for eligible concession card holders)
Duration :2 days per week (Thursday & Friday)
Locations: WCIG, 151 Nicholson Street Footscray VIC and also a minimum of 40 hours work placement.
