2010 Priority Education and Training Program

NOW CLOSED

AVAILABLE FOR ELIGIBLE PERSONS WHO ARE

  • An Australian citizen; or

  • Permanent resident of Australia; or

  • A holder of a Special Category VISA (sub-class 444)

  • Temporary Protection VISA holders; or

  • East Timorese Asylum seekers; and

  • People whose training is not funded under any other State or Commonwealth Government program

  • Be a NEW entrant or EXISTING worker employed in the Home and Community Care/Aged Care Industry

  • Aged 20 and above;

  • If 20 – 24 years old, must not hold a qualification in Certificate IV or higher in any discipline except in a Foundation Category course.

  • If aged 25 and over, can have an existing qualification that is higher than Certificate III

  • MUST not be apprentices or trainees

  • Willing to enrol and complete a Certificate III in Home and Community Care (CHC30202)

  • MUST BE AVAILABLE TO COMMENCE ON 11TH March 2010


What is the Priority Education and Training Program (PETP)?

The Priority Education and Training Program (PETP) is a Victorian Government initiative that supports training and assessment in skills and regions that have been identified as industry and/or Victorian Government priorities.


The 2010 PETP aims to support the delivery of training for the development of skills and knowledge to enable participation in the workforce, specifically:


  • in industries where there is unmet demand for training of pre-entrants/existing workers;

  • for equity groups, such as people with disabilities; and

  • for Indigenous learners;

Students involved in PETP are expected to progress towards achieving units of competency or qualifications.


How Much Does It Cost?

PETP courses are FULLY SUBSIDISED which means it costs clients nothing and is FREE of charge if clients meet the eligibility criteria above. If clients do not meet the eligibility criteria above Skills for Victoria (SFV) Tuition Fee and eligibility criteria applies. For clients who do not meet with either PETP or SFV funding eligibility requirements the Fee For Service cost for this course is $2,500.00.

Course: Certificate III Home and Community Care (CHC30202) and also Certificate III in Aged Care (CHC30102

Locations:
2 days per week (Thursday’s and Friday’s) at WCIG, 151 Nicholson Street Footscray VIC and also a minimum of 120 hours work placement in a Home and Community Care organisation

FULL TIME
