Job Seekers

jobseeker imageGetting ready to look for work can be a job in itself.

Our staff understand it can be tough if you've never worked before, or if you're returning to work after along interval. Our services are designed with you in mind.

A new or updated resume, help with interview techniques, training and advice from experienced consultants can give you the confidence you need to find work.

We have the expertise and experience that can help you help yourself.

How We'll Help You

In all aspects of life, preparation is the key. Getting a job is no different.

Set your employment goals

We'll help you prepare for employment by working on your employment goals with you.

This includes everything from discussing your ultimate goal, the steps to get there and a realistic look at where your strengths lie.

With reality testing and career guidance, we can put you on the road to satisfying employment.

Update your resume

We'll work with you on your present resume, making sure it is current and appropriate for you.

If you do not have a resume, we can create one with you. The right resume puts you one step closer to a job that matches your skills and interests.

Find suitable job vacancies

Jobs aren't always found in the newspaper. Our staff access the hidden job market for our jobseekers.

Your consultant can meet with possible employers on your behalf and tell them about who you are, your dedication to finding work and commitment to working for them.

Therefore, when you do go for the interview, there is less to be nervous about - your potential future boss is expecting you!

Prepare for job interviews

Job interviews can be stressful. They're usually a necessary part of the job search.

To help you prepare for an upcoming interview, we'll conduct a 'mock' interview with you in our office. We'll give you feedback on how you did, along with interview tips (such as what to wear to the interview) and specific information on the job you're going for. We can even assist you with transportation to the interview.

Life challenges

We understand that sometimes life throws you challenges. It is hard to concentrate on finding a job if you're worrying about an upcoming court case, custody battle or where you are going to sleep that night.

We can direct you to specific support services that can help you get back on track, and into the workforce again.

PRACTICAL SUPPORT

We know that when you're looking for work, every dollar counts. We can help you with expenses related to job seeking, including:

  • Access to the internet, phone, fax, photocopier and newspapers at our office
  • Funding assistance for skills training
  • Assistance with transportation to interviews
  • Work-related counselling
