Communities

Our work is focused on servicing communities, those gathered around a location and those that come into being from shared experence and identity. WCIG currently works with and within the following communities:

Footscray, Sunshine, St Albans, Werribee with a particular focus on the communities of Laverton, Maidstone, Braybrook, Heathdale

People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with a mental illness, people with a disability, Indigenous people, people living with HIV/AIDS and the gay & lesbian community

 

Strategic Goals

WCIG's Committee of Management in conjunction with the senior managers have identified four main areas that will underpin WCIG's activities over the next five years

1. Innovation and Service Excellence

WCIG consistently delivers high quality, effective services in all contracted areas

Goal 1 Project systems and processes are reviewed to assess and improve their efficiency on an ongoing basis
Goal 2 WCIG continues to develop innovative models of work and employment in services
Goal 3 WCIG will identify areas or groups of people with high levels of need and develop services delivery models and processes to meet those needs

2. Strategic Partnering

WCIG creates and maintains effective partnerships on all levels to maximize the skill and resources available when organizations or people join forces .

Goal 1 WCIG maintains excellent working relationships with contract managers, funding bodies , researchers and policy makers to facilitate service delivery improvements at a macro level.
Goal 2 WCIG will establish and maintain good relationships with like organizations and other community service organizations in order to minimize duplication and effectively use our areas of expertise
Goal 3 WCIG will create and maintain strategic partnership with employers at all levels in order to maximize employment opportunities for our job seekers and improve our service delivery

3. Organisational Development and Excellence

WCIG's internal processes, resources and systems effectively support the work that is being done in the projects

Goal 1 WCIG's working environment is cohesive, positive, productive and supportive
Goal 2 COM governance processes are comprehensive and effective
Goal 3 All staff are appropriately resourced, trained, and supported to achieve high quality results.
Goal 4 WCIG resources are developed and maintained at a high standard

4. Effective Marketing and Public Relations

WCIG is well known in the market place for high quality, effective service delivery.

Goal 1 Corporate identity and sub-brands are developed and applied consistently to all WCIG projects
Goal 2 Develop PR strategy and systems for each project
Goal 3 WCIG is presented at industry forums and events
